Nokia N8 was long been speculated to be within the range of 22,000 INR to 24,000 INR for the markets in India. However, this does not look to be right since the cost Nokia N8 around the world averages at about 28,000 INR. This is really sad for the Indian Nokia Fan. However, it is still not officially announced if Nokia N8 will cost the same as the in the other countries. There are a lot of options for any non-Nokia fan in this price range which include - Samsung Wave, Samsung Galaxy S, Sony Ericsson Vivaz, Motorola Milestone and Nokia N900.
Nokia phones are comparatively a lot cheaper in India owing to the large customer base and the ever growing mobile industry and tough competition from other mobile companies. In India, we do not have contract deals like in the other countries as such companies like Nokia get the entire money at once when a customer buys a mobile phone. There are lesser complexities in legal terms because of the absence of contract deals. All the Nokia phones are sold in India factory unlocked.
Further, we can still hope the phone to open for pre-orders early in India as it has already opened in rest of the world. It was expected to be delivered in India than rest of the world but this doesn't seem true. But i hope, the pre-orders should be opening by end of this week or early next week.
