A new update for the Angry Birds Rio is available. This is a May 2011 update. After installing this update, there is a new game available in the game slot after Smugglers' Den and Jungle Escape. Rio version is one step ahead of the regular Angry Birds version as you get to see many creatures and birds as enemies.

In the latest update, apart from the usual angry birds, there is a pair of blue macaws that are used with the catapult to hit the monkeys. The new game version added is called Beach Volley.
